Licensing Commercial Components for SimVascular

Licenses for the commercial components below must be obtained directly from the vendors. The general process is shown below:

These are the commercial components currently used within SimVascular:

• UGS Parasolid (currently Version 18.0) for solid modeling

• Simmetrix Simulation Modeling Suite (currently Version 5.4-061125) for meshing

  • MeshSim Core

    • Advanced
    • Adapt

  • GeomSim Core

    • GeomSim Discrete
    • GeomSim Int Parasolid

• AcuSim LesLib (currently Version 1.4) for the iterative solver.

We continue to work on streamlining licensing as well as exploring open source alternatives.

Approximate combined costs for all three commercial components are as follows:

1. Academic Research:
   • $4,000 in one-time fees (if applicable).
   • $4,700/year for North America
   • $6,200/year for International

   • Parasolid requires your institution to have a site license. You can check on your institution's status by contacting a GO PLM representative (see Parasolid Academic Users). Institutional grants are available from UGS.

2. Commercial Research ("doing research of methods, processes, techniques, and technology"):
   • $15,000 in one-time fees (if applicable).
   • $20,600/year for North America
   • $22,100/year for International
   • The above is for the first seat. Additional seats are $720/year.
3. Commercial Development and Distribution:
   • Is significantly higher than fees above. Contact individual vendors for licensing prices.
