Credible Practice of Modeling & Simulation in Healthcare (CPMS) Wiki
Read our recent publication of the Ten Rules for credible practice
Thank you for visiting the wiki site of the Committee on Credible Practice of Modeling & Simulation in Healthcare. The Committee was established in order to provide a collaborative platform to outline good practice of simulation-based medicine. Initiated by the Interagency Modeling and Analysis Group and the Multiscale Modeling Consortium, the primary focus of the Committee is to enhance the credibility of computational modeling & simulation for clinical research and decision making.

Who are we?
We are a diverse group of scientists, clinicians, engineers devoted to the use of modeling and simulation in healthcare. The team integrates multiple clinical and scientific disciplines and engages diverse organizations to establish credile practice of in silico medicine in a holistic manner.
Please browse the member list to learn more about us.
What do we do?
Overall goals of the Committee are:
to adopt a consistent modeling & simulation terminology
to develop guidelines & procedures for credible practice
- to demonstrate workflows for credibility assessment
- to promote credible practice of modeling and simulation
Why should you care?
- Computational modeling and simulation have substantial potential to support research, clinical decision and education in healthcare.
Government agencies and industry are making substantial investments on research & development activities in simulation-based medicine and notable discoveries are being made.
BUT
Common practice guidelines do not exist to ensure that appropriate credibility processes are followed for knowledge quality, clinical efficacy, and patient safety.
